The Challenge: Rapid Growth and Limited Resources 

Before they found RapidWorks, Hoosier Concrete Pumping faced significant challenges in managing their growing business. As their operations grew, so did the need for more efficient processes, especially in dispatching and job management. According to Ponce, “We were growing really fast at that time and we couldn’t keep up with it. We were doing like 20 to 24 jobs a day and we wanted to expand.”   

At this stage, the manual processes of tracking jobs with paper and pencil were not sustainable. The company needed a solution that could streamline their operations and manage their growth more effectively.

The Hoosier team quickly realized they needed a software solution to help them with their operational process. In March 2022, they implemented RapidWorks to manage their dispatching, job tickets, and invoicing. With RapidWorks, they were able to successfully grow from 15 to 20 trucks and dispatchers were able to tackle 30-35 jobs per day versus their initial rate of 20-25 jobs.  

As Hoosier is always looking for new ways to improve their operations, they decided to try a new dispatching solution in the summer of 2024. This solution promised to streamline the dispatching process and seemed to align with their growth goals. However, it required too much data entry to work properly, resulting in a significant slow in the scheduling process.  

“I found [another] program out there that was going to help maybe [streamline operations] better,” Ponce recalls “But we needed to enter way too much information to get that to work correctly.”

Ultimately, the excessive time required to input every single detail became a bottleneck, and Hoosier Concrete Pumping quickly realized that the program wasn’t working for their fast-paced operations.    

The Hoosier team soon decided to switch over to RapidWorks and give it another try. While Ponce had been exploring different software options, RapidWorks stood out with its simplicity and efficiency compared to the competition.

"On your standard data grid, we can just select the customer and get a very broad dispatch going,” Josh explains, comparing it to the difficulties they faced with their previous system. “Whereas in the other program, we had to put in every single detail so I could tell me how long that port was going to take. We had to pick a driver and everything right away and set it up. You could go back and edit it, but it was taking way too much time for one person to do that.”
